Yet more cars (with the occasional Landie thrown in!)

Landies at Strangford being used for what they were designed. Just a wee opportunist snap I took. Just hope the salt water was power washed off afterwards.

Landies

Here's my red landie, just an ordinary TD plodder but unbelievably versatile. Go anywhere and loads of torque for pulling power.

my landie

Mr Rik rallying. One of my good friends who used to navigate in a Talbot Sunbeam and finished 2nd in class during 1999. Watch out for him this year in a Toyota Corolla RWD. You can visit his site through my links page.

Scooby's forever. You just can't keep a good car down. The Subaru rally car just keeps on winning thanks to the boys and girls of Prodrive. Again, the link exists through my links page. If you need your Scooby tuned, just ask my bro who works there as a Design Engineer! Some people have all the luck.

My Spitty

The white Spitty is one of my vehicles and has been on the road since a full restoration in 1991/1992. A 1971 Mk 4 Spitfire is reasonably original except for GT6 US spec seats, roll bar, 5.5" wide steel wheels, split front bumper, rear anti-roll bar and a mildly tuned engine. So OK, it's not totally original but that is what makes it my car.

yellow Mk 3

The latest purchase is a yellow mk3. Bought with a strange knocking noise that isn't the rocker shaft, water pump or dynamo (as I've already replaced them). However the faces of two cam followers are damaged.

The knock has now been found. Make sure you tighten the timing gear wheel onto the camshaft otherwise you get variable valve timing like this yellow beastie.

I'll soon be publishing my other cars which include another Mk 3 Spitfire, a 1302S Beetle (flat screen and Mc Pherson struts for those of you who know Bettles) and a racing Mk 3 Sptifire 'Kas Kastner' style with fibreglass panels!

Welding is one thing you learn how to do when you buy classic cars like the ones I end up buying ! Just watch the sparks jumping over the mask.
